In addition to the school’s music curriculum, there are a number of extra-curricular music programs at SIPS – instrumental band, choir and dance.
Concert Band
Our instrumental program, “Band”, provides quality instrumental music education, positive performance experiences and creative, collaborative rehearsals in a concert band setting. The program is managed by our partner MusicLinks and their team of professional conductors, instrumental tutors, and music teachers that lead the program.
We offer three concert bands for students in Years 3 to 6. No previous musical experience is required. There are regular performance opportunities at school and in the local community, as well as an annual Band Camp. MusicLinks leads our weekly band rehearsals and one-on-one in-home lessons.
Dance Groups
There are two dance groups – boys & girls. Auditions are at the start of the year. Both groups rehearse weekly and typically perform at the Sydney North Dance Festival each year with other performances throughout the year.

Choir
The school choir meets regularly to rehearse and performance at the Ryde Schools Spectacular annually at the Sydney Opera House with other performances throughout the year.
